Embroidery skills are extremely important in ethnic minority life, the more intricate it is, the more a woman will be respected and fit to marriage. Every year, before Chinese New Year, the wife has to make a new set of clothes for herself and her family, each embroidery take months to complete and it can consume all of her free time during the year.

With the connection to the modern world, the mountain life has been changing fast, but we hope and support that they keep their traditions alive and keep doing those beautiful embroideries.
